COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ A local coalition of nonprofits and elected officials is working to save the Dome Building from decay and turn it into a community center for local groups. Led by Brian McKinley and Stephan Price, they will purchase the historic building and use it for public services — a move aimed at preserving an important Salem landmark. Salem Reporter

- ➤ Garmin’s GTN 750Xi Touchscreen Flight Navigator, made in Salem—recognized for its enhanced safety features and smoother design—is among this year’s nominees for Coolest Things Made in Oregon. The system did not pass the initial round of voting and a winner will be announced at Vision Oregon on Oct. 22. Salem Reporter

- ➤ The Oregon State Capitol Rotunda has been restored as part of the CAMS project — a multi-million dollar effort that upgraded the historic interior for visitors. Statesman Journal
- ➤ The Oregon Department of Human Services said community support led to the recovery of 14-year-old Stella 'Clay' Dolton who went missing from Springfield on Sept. 22 and was found on Sept. 25—ending a three-day search. Officials said they will continue to monitor her safety and well-being. 1430 KYKN
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ More than 111,000 Oregonians who purchase coverage through the marketplace will face an average 75% premium increase in 2026 — nearly 35,000 will lose full financial help — if Congress does not extend the enhanced tax credits.
