Salem truckers and local agencies are struggling to balance their books after diesel prices reached a record high this month.
Salem-based Truckendorf Trucking saw fuel costs jump by 75 cents in one week, with full impacts expected to reach consumers in the coming weeks.
Amtrak will debut its new Airo trains on the Cascades route on Sept.
30 with upgraded amenities and more seating capacity for riders. The trains will run one roundtrip daily from Seattle to Vancouver (with stops including Salem) and another from Seattle to Eugene.
