CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Salem Police arrested a 26 year old man and a 20 year old woman on July 18 for allegedly throwing eggs at homeless people on Court Street between Front Street NE and Liberty Street NE—officers recovered 225 eggs and other related egg evidence and charged them with intimidation with bias against a person's housing status and disorderly conduct. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Bush House Museum now displays new artwork by Nikesha Breeze that honors African American pioneers and addresses Asahel Bush’s racist legacy—efforts that expand the narrative of Salem’s history. Tours are free and available Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 12:15, 1:15, 2:15, and 3:15, and the exhibit runs at the museum until September 30 and at the nearby Bush Barn Art Center until August 30. - ➤ Salem Health filed a breach of contract lawsuit against RefleXion after a $6.4 million radiation machine failed to perform as promised and put patients at risk. The hospital said older machines worked better and on April 7 requested a refund along with additional damages—claims that RefleXion oversold the device’s capabilities. Salem Reporter
