Salem Public Library has launched the Level Up at Your Library Summer Reading Challenge to invite readers of all ages to sign up, track reading time, earn badges and win prizes.

Registration is open now through ReadSquared online or the app and a new account is needed due to the library’s new online platform—watch the website for upcoming events and news emails.

City of Salem Public Works is beginning to strengthen four bridges today to allow heavier trucks to safely cross local waterways using (Safety and Livability Bond) funds; the projects include work on Liberty Street NE over Mill Creek, 17th Street NE, 15th Street NE and Mission Street SE. Workers will close lanes for equipment staging as traffic delays are expected through November.
