- ➤ Dan Clem will become the executive director of the Keizer Chamber of Commerce, beginning Feb. 9 after months of interim leadership. He brings experience from city council and a local nonprofit, and the board expects him to strengthen business ties and community advocacy. Salem Business Journal

- ➤ On Feb. 5, three experienced educators spoke on students’ reading struggles at a Town Hall meeting at the Elsinore Theatre — citing outdated curriculum, a short school year, and limited teacher training — and detailed plans for pilot programs and enhanced training next school year. - ➤ Ashland Sen. Jeff Golden reintroduced his Climate Superfund Bill at a Thursday hearing in the Senate Natural Resources and Wildfire Committee; the bill would require oil companies (Exxon Mobil, Chevron, and others) to pay for disaster damages from climate change so funds can support wildfire prevention and adaptation across Oregon.
