- ➤ On Christmas Eve, many grocery stores in Oregon will have limited hours as Safeway, Whole Foods, and Grocery Outlet close at 7 p.m., Fred Meyer, Roth's Fresh Markets, and Walmart close at 6 p.m., and Costco and Trader Joe's close at 5 p.m. Target stays open until 8 p.m. Statesman Journal
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Today at the Elsinore Theatre (170 High St. S.E.), Salem Tuba Holiday brings over 50 local musicians performing 23 holiday songs with audience sing-alongs. Doors open at 11 a.m., and tickets cost $10 online or $15 at the door with some balcony seats still available. Salem Reporter

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents in 19 Oregon counties who lost food bought with SNAP during storms on Dec. 17 now have until Jan. 16 to report losses and request replacement benefits from the Oregon Department of Human Services+ those living elsewhere must follow the usual 10-day reporting rule. 1430 KYKN
- ➤ Oregon law allows window tinting if side and rear windows keep at least 50% light and windshields are tinted only on the top 6 inches to maintain 35% light. Multipurpose vehicles and medically exempt drivers (with valid documentation) are exceptions, and violations carry fines from $135 to $1,000. Statesman Journal
- ➤ State auditors found that the Oregon Health Authority has not set up clear systems to track if nearly $800 million spent on Measure 110 is boosting drug treatment and recovery. The audit said shifting laws and missing data keep the program's success in doubt. Salem Reporter
