  • Veterans Day events around the Mid-Valley will include a ceremony in Salem at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 by the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs, a parade in Albany starting at 11:11 a.m., concerts at Willamette University on Nov. 8 and 9, and a fundraiser dinner at the Salem Convention Center at 6 p.m. Nov. 11—there will be no flyovers this year due to a government shutdown.  Statesman Journal
  • Salem schools celebrated Día de los Muertos by creating ofrendas with marigold flowers, painted skulls, and handwritten cards to honor loved ones. HEALTH NEWS

  • New OHA data show that 54% of nearly 150,000 eligible health care workers received a flu shot during the 2024-2025 season, a drop of 11% from last season and 36% since 2019-2020—raising concerns for patient safety.
