- ➤ Cherriots is inviting riders and community members to join Bus-tache November+ a campaign that will support men's health by encouraging mustache selfies on buses starting November 1. - ➤ Longtime downtown Salem bar The Night Deposit Whiskey Library at 195 Commercial St. NE will close its doors today on Halloween — its owners announced the decision on Oct. 24 after many years of hosting drinking, dancing and deejaying. The company added that The Vault Bar & Grill at 1111 Edgewater St. NW will remain open. Statesman Journal

- ➤ This November, Salem galleries will show local ceramics, woodland scenes, and handmade dolls from around the world while hosting events like the Salem Art Walk on Nov. 7th and a live benefit auction at Elsinore Framing & Fine Art Gallery on Nov. 16th—other venues will feature fiber arts and themed exhibits such as a black, white and gray gala. - ➤ Oregon Treasurer Steiner said today that treasury staff are reducing PERS private equity holdings from a recent high of 28% to 25% by the end of this year and planning to lower them further to no more than 20%. She explained that investments were sold and new buys slowed—actions taken after criticism that too much of the $97 billion fund was in non-public companies. Oregon Capital Chronicle

- ➤ Marion County officials discussed spending $100,000 per week for two weeks on food baskets for SNAP recipients as the government shutdown could delay federal benefits, with an estimated support of 300,000 meals per week.
