PacifiCorp agreed to pay $125 million to Oregon wineries and vineyards in a settlement for damage caused by the 2020 Labor Day wildfires that tainted grape harvests — producers say it will take five to seven years to rebuild.
More than 30 companies had filed a lawsuit seeking nearly $180 million, and lawyers announced the deal on Oct. 19.

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department is inviting Salem trail users, land managers, and partners to review the draft 2026 Oregon Recreational Trails Plan online from October 30th to November 28th and share feedback.
They will also host a virtual open house on October 30th from 11 a.m.—noon to explain how the plan will set funding priorities and improve trails.
State regulators urged banks and insurers to extend grace periods for premium payments and delay foreclosures for families hit hard by the ongoing shutdown.
The agency said the move will help roughly 10,000 state workers who lost pay since the shutdown began on Oct 1—offering needed relief during this financial crisis.
