GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Salem City Council will review an update on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Loucks Auditorium on plans to deep draw down Detroit Reservoir in fall so that endangered salmon can pass while city leaders monitor its potential to send muddy water into the North Santiam River, which may disrupt drinking water for 200,000 people—city officials declared a state of emergency on July 28 after testing showed even low turbidity could force costly repairs.
