ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Salem Fire Department extinguished an early morning ambulance fire off Delaney Road Exit of Interstate 5, with no patients on board or injuries reported. Statesman Journal
- ➤ Interstate 5 will see daytime and nighttime construction closures between Kuebler Boulevard and Delaney Road to widen the freeway and reduce southbound traffic congestion, with significant disruptions expected through Sept. 11. Statesman Journal
- ➤ A 32-year-old man, Alexander Boyd Schumpert, was fatally struck by a freight train in Salem after lying down on the tracks, prompting a three-hour rail line closure for investigation. 1430 KYKN
