GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City leaders are planning to bring commercial air service back to Salem Airport by exploring community fundraising, low-cost carriers, and federal grants for a Minimum Revenue Guarantee—an agreement expected to cost $1.5 to $4 million—and will discuss funding details at a Sept. 8 council meeting. Officials are working quickly to retain TSA screening equipment before it is removed so the airport can attract a new carrier. Statesman Journal
