Salem city attorneys filed a request in federal court on Aug.
21 to stop the Army Corps of Engineers from starting a deep drawdown of Detroit Reservoir, which they say could harm the city’s water filtration systems for 220,000 residents. The agency plans to lower the reservoir starting Nov. 1.
