  • At the August 11 City Council meeting, Interim City Manager Krishna Namburi announced steps to boost safety and livability in downtown and northeast Salem—short-term measures include increased police presence and expanded cleaning funded by the current budget. Future plans from January to March call for pairing emergency response with mental health support, adding Homeless Services Team officers, and hosting a workshop with community partners.  1430 KYKN
