- ➤ Marion Polk Food Share’s Youth Farm ended its best season yet as 33 teens harvested vegetables and prepared sheet-pan pizza for families on Tuesday, August 5. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Salem city councilors unanimously approved sending an evaluation form to council members and the executive team to review Interim City Manager Krishna Namburi’s performance, with a summary of the feedback to be reviewed in September to decide if she will be permanently appointed. The council also approved a supplemental budget to add $230,000 for senior center programming and allowed Namburi to apply for a $1 million grant to install solar arrays on the Marion Parkade renovation — measures aimed at addressing budget challenges and public service needs.
