EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Oregon school districts have set first days for the new school year with Salem-Keizer Public Schools starting on Sept. 2 for grades 6 and 9 and Sept. 3 for grades 1-5, 7, 8, and 10-12 while other districts like Woodburn and Medford will begin on Aug. 25 and 26, and universities will start classes from Sept. 22 through Oct. 1. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ ORREO, LLC was selected to redevelop Block 45 downtown—an approval confirmed at the Salem Urban Renewal Agency's July 28 meeting. The agency bought the block in 2023 using tax increment funds from South Waterfront and Riverfront Downtown to create a hub for retail, offices, and new housing. 1430 KYKN
