COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Oregon Humane Society welcomed 16 medium to large dogs from central Texas animal shelters to help free up space for pets displaced by recent flash floods. The dogs were flown to Troutdale on July 31 and moved to shelters in Salem and Portland — OHS will assess them for adoption and some may be ready as early as this weekend.  Statesman Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On July 29, Kevin Ryan (the Court-appointed Neutral in the Wyatt B. v. Kotek settlement) submitted his Initial Review that outlined 14 measures to track Oregon’s foster care improvements. State officials reviewed the report and will use the benchmarks to monitor reforms in the system.  1430 KYKN
