🏥 Health
Inspectors found violations at several Salem restaurants during inspections from June 22 to 26 — including undated birria at La Leyenda and improperly cooled potatoes at The Get-A-Way in Mill City.
Owners may need to take steps to meet food safety standards.

The Statesman Journal has released nominees for Salem-area Freshman of the Year in local sports for the 2025-26 season; voters may choose their favorite before noon Sunday, July 19.
