Hundreds attended the 5th annual Yakama Nation Lamprey Celebration along the Willamette River in Oregon City on June 25.
Tribal members harvested lamprey, offered tastings (and cultural displays) that honored a long-held indigenous tradition.
Kotek’s prosperity council urged lawmakers to examine tax cuts and shifts to boost Oregon’s economy, proposing revenue-neutral changes including increased estate tax exemptions and expanded R&D credits.

Oregon state officials warned Salem residents to use legal fireworks responsibly amid dry conditions and rising wildfire risks this Fourth of July, noting that fireworks are banned in state forests + on ODF protected lands and have been available under permit since June 23 until July 6.
