  • Communities across Salem will celebrate Fourth of July with fireworks, parades and festivals scheduled for July 3, 4 and 5. Local events will offer family activities, live music and vendors with fireworks set to begin at 10 p.m. at several sites including Oregon Garden, Monmouth, Mt. Angel, Stayton, Woodburn, St. Paul and Detroit Lake.  Statesman Journal

CRIME NEWS

  • Early Sunday, June 22, at around 12:30 a.m., Woodburn Police responded to a stabbing at an apartment on Young Street and took the injured victim to a hospital where they are stable—at 6:00 a.m., police located and arrested 37-year-old Luis Tlehuactle Morales, who now faces charges including Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.  1430 KYKN
