Today, Oregon Department of Transportation crews begin inspecting the Center Street Bridge with a snooper truck that goes over and under the structure.

The four-night project will fully close southbound Front Street, limit northbound lanes and off-ramps, and shut up to two lanes on the bridge — steps that set the stage for next year's seismic retrofit and will bring detours, noise and delays.

The Salem Budget Committee will meet May 7, 6—8 p.m. in the City Council Chambers to recommend a Fiscal Year 2026 Budget for the City Council and Urban Renewal Agency—another meeting is set for May 14 if more discussion is needed.
