- ➤ Four winning Powerball tickets sold across Oregon fetched $7 million in prizes for the April 29 drawing. Three $2 million tickets came from Coos Bay, Creswell, and Medford while a $1 million ticket was sold in Gresham, and winners can claim their prizes at Lottery offices in Salem or Wilsonville. - ➤ Chemeketa Community College was approved to offer a new Bachelor of Applied Science in Education degree as part of the statewide BASE initiative; the program will begin Fall 2027 and build a local pathway for future teachers while capping enrollment at 30 students (to support quality instruction). 1430 KYKN

- ➤ Rising rents have increased average unit costs to about $1,100, straining Salem Housing Authority's assistance for 3,096 leased households out of 3,302 vouchers; the agency paused its $50,000 Short-Term Stability Support Fund after 94 applications and is reviewing rent increases plus adjustments by zip code.
