Gov. Tina Kotek’s plan to improve school performance got approval from the State Board of Education.
The blueprint sets new targets for reading, math, on-time graduation and attendance in public schools by the 2029-2030 school year and lets districts set their own growth goals.

Salem recognized National Fentanyl Awareness Day yesterday and launched the Prevent, Treat, Enforce Toolkit to help local leaders, service providers & community partners map resources, fill gaps and boost coordinated substance use efforts.
The toolkit follows a recent city proclamation focused on health and safety in our community.
