- ➤ On April 16, the Salem Budget Committee discussed the Interim City Manager's proposal for the 2026 fiscal year budget amid a $13.8 million shortfall that could lead to cuts in community services such as the library and parks. Council will meet at 6 p.m. on April 21 to review efficiency measures and the Budget Committee will hold a public hearing on the Capital Improvement Plan at 6 p.m. on April 23—both meetings playing a key role in the budget process. 1430 KYKN
- ➤ The Oregon Department of Forestry invites public comment on draft Annual Operations Plans for state forests in the Astoria, Forest Grove, Klamath Falls, Tillamook, West Oregon, and Western Lane Districts from April 18 through 5 p.m. June 3. Comments may be submitted online, by email, or by mail to help shape projects such as timber sales, road improvements, and habitat enhancements for planned forest operations in the coming fiscal year—efforts designed to secure economic, environmental, and social benefits. 1430 KYKN
