- ➤ The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for mountain passes today and tomorrow, warning that 10 to 18 inches of snow and winds up to 35 mph may make travel hazardous on routes like Highway 22 at Santiam Pass (with most snow above 4,000 feet). Statesman Journal

- ➤ Salem City Council approved a new ordinance that adds a 2% tourism fee for short-term rentals including Airbnb and VRBO stays scheduled to take effect May 1. The fee will be applied in addition to the 9% transient occupancy tax to support local tourism promotion. Salem Business Journal
