On Saturday, April 18, 2026, community members will gather at the Salem Convention Center for the 75th Annual First Citizen Awards Banquet to honor the Dorns, Carlee Wright, Alex Ferry and Tony Frazier for their community service (tickets cost $75 and include dinner).

Crowds gathered at the Capitol Mall on March 21 for Cherry Blossom Day with taiko drummers and cultural exhibits — lanterns will keep the blossom trees lit each night through April 4.
