Good morning, Salem.
Oregon made heat pumps the default cooling appliance for new homes after a 7+1 board vote last month; new building code rules phased in from October aim to cut energy use by 27% and save homeowners $171 per year while meeting 2030 energy standards.
Fencing will be installed around Willson Park at the Oregon State Capitol starting mid March as work begins on redeveloping the park, which will replace the Waite Fountain with a memorial garden (the Walk of Flags will also be reconfigured).
