  • The Oregon State Capitol celebrated Oregon’s 167th birthday on Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where city staff from Neighborhood Services + Library shared resource updates and free fun items while honoring state history and local indigenous heritage.  1430 KYKN

CULTURE NEWS

  • Darrell Jabin, known as Oregon’s Traveling Historian, shares state stories through videos and radio shows after retiring from public service. He will host a talk on Oregon women at Salem’s Center 50+ at 10 a.m. on Feb. 26 and another on inventors on March 26.  Statesman Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Feb. 14, Oregon Lottery generated $1.3 million from sports wagers on the Super Bowl through its DraftKings sportsbook. More than 450,000 bets were placed by local residents with an average wager of $18.30, driving total bets to $8.4 million.  1430 KYKN
