COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Wavra Farms has converted its 16,000 sqft greenhouse into an indoor winter market featuring 55 local vendors operating on Saturdays from October through mid-March.  Statesman Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • Salem artist Yanely Rivas Maldonado received a $150,000 fellowship from the Oregon Community Foundation to grow her printmaking practice and possibly open a community art space. Her work will focus on water projects and include a planned trip to Oaxaca to learn mural techniques.  Salem Reporter

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Oregon State Parks had 51.46 million day visits in 2025, down from 53.85 million in 2024 as coastal and Willamette Valley sites declined and overnight camps fell (due to maintenance closures). Upcoming upgrades at Fort Stevens, Cape Lookout, and Silver Falls will begin, with seasonal park jobs open statewide.  1430 KYKN
