On Thursday, Feb. 5 a town hall at the Elsinore Theatre addressed reading challenges for thousands of students; local experts from the Salem-Keizer School District + the Center for Early Literacy explained key issues and community steps to support improvement.

City of Human Rights Commission + Oregon Law Center produced the Know Your Rights training video to explain civil rights in relation to immigration enforcement and sanctuary laws, and a Spanish version will be released soon.

The video responds to community questions raised after the Dec. 1 emergency declaration.
