🏛️ Government
The northbound lanes of I-5 at the Aurora-Donald interchange (exit 278) will close overnight on Feb.
3 to allow crews to place beams for a bridge replacement; one lane will close at 8 p.m. and two lanes at 10 p.m., with lanes reopening by 7 a.m. on Feb. 4.
The City of Salem reinstated the Missing Historic Features Grant in 2024 to restore key historic elements, awarding the Elsinore Theatre $92,000 for its 1928 sign and crown, which were unveiled at a public event Sept.
12, 2025.
Marion County Justice of the Peace Justin Kidd was honored with the Carson Award on Jan.
30 for his public service and for expanding multi-language courthouse services—helping the court’s caseload grow from 16,000 to over 30,000—with a celebration planned at the Salem Convention Center on Feb. 5.
